Profile Information

How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
I first learnt of world cafe and open space, and then found to my delight that there was training in Melbourne in September 2008 with Toke, Mary-Alice, Tatiana and Aart Groothuis. I was attracted initially because of the methodologies for working with large groups and important conversations, and then as I learnt more, the importance of hosting, of design attracted me.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
Now 4 years later, I am understanding more about hosting myself, about using AOH methodologies as I think about working with change, and designing processes. In my workplace I would be considered an experienced practitioner, and I guess I am however when I sit along a continuum, I have a lot of learning and practice before I am a steward.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
I work in higher education, so building up practitioners and using AOH to design conversations in this space.
Where do you live/work?
I live in a seaside suburb of Hobart, called Taroona and I work at the university of Tasmania
