How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
I discovered it in a Facebook posting and I instantly connected it to Peter Block's book on "Community. The Structure of Belonging", which I have read with great enthusiasm. Facilitating community and cultural mentoring are among my core interests, and I can imagine what a great tool the AoH is.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I am new in AoH but have engaged in similar practices of group work and hosting, mainly in 8 Shields Cultural Mentoring.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
I am currently working for a German foundation (www.sinn-stiftung.eu) that is running a growing number of initiatives for cultural change and social potential development. The initiative I am mainly working on is called Nature Connects!. It wants to foster a culture of nature connection in main stream society. The focus for me is here to invite partners to form an alliance together that enables all of us to contribute much more than the sum of what we could achieve individually.
Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?
Exploring, playing and just being in nature, growing, harvesting and eating natural foods, potlucking with friends, making music and spending time with my 4 year old son.

Welcome, Elke, great to see you here (that is, we will SEE you here when you upload a picture -- got a good one?). You may want to touch base with Frauke Godat, as she's at the centre of a team planning an Art of Hosting training for Berlin. There are plenty of resources to have a look at and conversations to become part of -- I hope this community will be a great one for you and you a great contribution to it!
