Profile Information:

How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
I found out about AoH some time ago when doing research on Appreciative Inquiry, but have not been able to give attention to it until completing my PhD. I am strongly attracted to this process because of my own work as a storyteller and teacher. I use many principles similar to AoH in my practice in facilitating conversations in classrooms, and dramatic explorations of ideas and issues.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
In formally beginning a practice with AoH I am new. But for over 20 years, I've used principles of presence, listening, circles, conversation pieces, world cafe approaches, and harvesting (although I did not call it that) by creating visuals, artefacts and co-creating with the group.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
Stories about teaching and learning, leadership in classrooms, bringing imagination into teaching, learning, and leading.
Where do you live/work?
Claremont, California
Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?
Storytelling, art based approaches in circles and conversations
