Profile Information:

How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
I came into this community thanks to Ria Baeck, Judith Heezen and Lieven Callewaert back in February 2008 when I partook in the second iteration of Women Moving the Edge at Heerlijckyt. That was my first AoH "happening" and it changed my life ... I walked into this free of any expectations or objectives, beyond learning and discovering new paradigms. It is undoubtedly my unmitigated trust in these 3 people and my addiction to adventure that attracted me!
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I have grown with AoH as a "tutor" since March 2008 and it is now an integral part of the work that I do or at least touches the work I do in organisations. I have attended 3 subsequent enquiries and called the first AoH in French in Compiègne France along with my mates, Helga, Laurence and Nad in July 2010. This was a new birth for the French-speaking community which today is vibrant and calling for more! The journey continues...
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
As an interculturalist, I am opening my work as a result of the hosting practices. Rather than addressing the intercultural component as a "service to deliver", I invite participants to take responsibility for their development. I continue to bring my field competence. But my methods are participatory, the learning is co-created, participants take ownership and the changes are sustained. It's amazing what can happen when you turn the keys over to the the learners!
Where do you live/work?
Paris
Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?
The potential in organisations when the essensial benefits of being happy are grasped.
New leadership paradigms.
Capturing and enhancing talent.

Thank you, Nancy! I am looking forward to getting to know folks and sharing in this great work!

Thanks for the welcome Nancy. I have begun exploring...a lot is here.

I noticed that the member's Map application does not appear to be working. Is it likely to be repaired and workable. I know how much work goes into maintaining sites like this, so I certainly understand if it is not on the radar for a workable solution in the near future. Just curious.

Hi Nancy, Thanks for your message and for welcoming me here. Unfortunately I can't manage to upload a photo. I tried all formats (jpg, gif, png) ... tried different sizes, but still it doesn't work. Any tipps what I could do?

    Best regards, Irene

    A suivre bientôt donc, j'espère !

    Bonjour Nancy,

    OK !

    Catherine

    Good morning Nancy

Thank you very much for your warm welcome. I feel very happy to have found a community, a language and tools to better and more joyfully handle organisational complexities. Château the Bossey was a real eye opener to me. I'm curious where this journey will take me...

    Kind regard

    Andrea

    Hi Nancy,

Thank you for the lovely welcome. The sessions were really moving, very emotional and lots of passion. It sounds cliché but it really changed my perspective on quite a lot of issues and also my work and even my life.

    I will upload a photo now -

    wishing you well,

    Maddie

Hi Nancy, thanks so much for the welcome. I am interested in any programs/sessions in Singapore. I have been in the UK in a program and the Art of Hosting was mentioned as a great program to deepen what I will be bringing to clients in areas of critical analysis. If you know of any, please let me know. I was hoping to do last Octobers program but was out of town on those dates. Thanks!

Nancy I would be very curios to understand how you co-create interculturality. I also organize group workshop on this topic in Asia and I would love to try other approach more co-created.
I will participate to an art of hosting 3 days training in may and I am thrilled about of it but if you would like to share some tips it would be great. Thanks! Giorgia

Hi Nancy. I am just delighted to have finally found my way to this page. And similarly delighted to meet you here too. :) My path here has been a little bit of hit and miss. I'm still very active with the Participatory Leadership network at the Commission (lots of interesting things happening), but I was recently approached (via Rainer) by two girls in Latvia who are interested in creating an AoH network in Latvia (I may have mentioned that this has been a dream of mine, so I am happy that this opportunity has come up). So, on top of thinking about the things we could discuss next week, I thought I would have a look at the AoH Australia network - and, bingo, here I am. Looking terrifically interesting.

    Dear Nancy,

Thank you for the warm and informative welcome to the community :-). The group is strong in Slovenia, and I am keen to connect internationally, learn and eventually perhaps contribute.

The profile I wrote was a very quick one, in great haste, and when I have a little more time I will improve on it a bit. I have added a picture, though.

I heard there is going to be an AoH event here in Slovenia in October, but couldn't find anything about it in the calendar.

    Dear Nancy,

Thank you for your welcome. I just got a Masters degree in leadership, and I started doing workshops for a company in the social services sector.  I have done about a dozen workshops, using various techniques.  Now, the client wants me to help implementing the changes.  That entails a different set of tools.  Going forward, I want to specialize in collaborative models, such as the liberating structures of Lipmanowicz and McCandless.  It is good to find a group of practitioners, active it hosting meaningful conversations.  Salut, Labrie

  • Olivier Maurel

Hello, Nancy!  Thank you for the warm welcome.  Just posted a recent snapshot.  Not certain if it "landed" as my profile picture.  My friend Jeremy has said that his first AoH training was the most remarkable of his life.  I look forward to a similar experience!

    Bien cordialement,

    Josselin

Dear Nancy, Thank you for your warm welcome. Yes, small world! I'm guessing we have shared friends and community in Boston. I am not there a lot these days ... and I love the idea of reigniting AoH in Boston. Warm regards, Robin

  • Isabelle Rappart

Thank you very much, Nancy! I am really grateful for accepting me in this online community. More power!

  • Sylvia Beatrix Pereira

Nancy, first of all, sorry for this one year late response! As I wrote on my profile, I was new at that time (2016) and also, didn't get any message showing your friendly welcome.
Thanks for welcoming me, and let's have a new start - or, a real one, at least! Regards, Sylvia Beatrix

  • Sylvia Beatrix Pereira

    Thanks!
  • Kate Crisp

thanks for your welcome note Nancy, let me know if you are in the area!

  • Hironori Yamaguchi

Nancy, thank you for the hospitality. I turned on the pictures. That is a formal picture with a tie wrapped around it, and I imagine it is not suitable for AoH networking. Of course, I will relax without a tie at hosting!

  • Chris Connolly

Thanks, Nancy! Appreciate the welcome and will do :)
