The Art of Hosting

From Danny Gal, from Israel, Sept.1, 2011 - the 1000 Round Tables event:

Dear Hub network, AoH and others related, actually – Dear world

Many of you have sent me warm support for the involvement of the Hub in the Social Protest in Israel. It was very empowering for me to get this backing from you. I feel like I have lived and waited many years for this opportunity: A true social impact.

We are getting ready to realize the 1000 Round Tables event. please see below how you can support us.

On Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 9PM, in front of the Tel Aviv Museum of Arts and in various locations all over Israel, a thousand round tables will convene and discuss the following questions: What is change in our society do we hope for? What are people willing to do to make it happen?

This mass discussion shall be a true display of democracy in action on an unprecedented scale. A conversation between people from all walks of life, leading to the Co-Creation of insights and ideas for social change and action.

The message is clear: Our protest continues, and we are all in it together. We can all contribute and commit to changing our society, both locally and globally.

Hub Tel Aviv is taking the lead on this. But – this is much wider than us and many Israeli individuals and organizations joined us.

How can you support?

Logistically it is going to be an expensive challenge – and we are aiming to raise 100,000$ from our supporters – that might be you!

We need your help in donations and in spreading the word.

Please donate here and forward this message as wide as you can.

Hugs to each and every one of you,

Danny

Reply from Toomas Trapido, from Estonia - My Estonia:

Dear friends,

12 points, Danny and Israel! It feels so good and right that you are doing it!

It might be of interest, that there was something similar in Estonia (my country) in 2009. We organised a nation-wide thinking event called My Estonia on one day in May 1, 2009. There were more than 500 open space sessions all over the country with ca 11800 participants. The issues ranged from very locaI to national and even global. I can say now, that it changed a lot for everyone - reduced fear between people and politicians, many initiatives sprung up or got real wind in their wings, many small things just got done etc.

Here is the website in English:

And I attach a detailed report for those more interested.

If anyone wants to know more, I'm more than happy to answer.

And again - I'm with you guys in my thoughts on this Saturday!

Greetings,

Toomas from Estonia
