The Art of Hosting

Hi Mates.

I'm asking on behalf of a local non-profit I do some work with.
I imagine in this lovely world that there is stuff:
- online
- accessible to many
- simple
- free or low cost
- good for basic email broadcast functions to events and such
Any that you can recommend?
Greetings from Utah.

Quickly there came an answer:

Tenneson,

I have used iContact, Constant Contact, MailChimp, and a few others I can’t remember.

Constant Contact, iContact, and MailChimp offer discounts to non-profits. You have to jump through a few hoops, but you can get a discount that makes it worthwhile.

However, if you are looking for a free service – these 3 offer some level of “free” but MailChimp is the best.

MailChimp will allow you to host a database of up to 2000 in their online service for FREE. Not all the bells and whistles are available for the free, but for most of my clients the free account does everything and more.  It provides code and plugins to use on your website to allow people to sign up for your emails/newsletters, link to your social media, track the opens, bounces, and clicks on all your mailings.

All of these services offer video tutorials and other help resources. They are designed for both the novice and the advanced html code users.  www.mailchimp.com

I am currently using MailChimp for two of my clients. There are differences and limitations with each service – and if you want a “paid” service – then Constant Contact is my favorite www.constantcontact.com .

If you have more questions, let me know privately.

Thanks,

Elaine S. Hansen
