Event Description

Introduction to the Art of Hosting: Applying Participatory Leadership And Facilitation Techniques In Evaluation

We know many evaluation professionals reduce complex community and organizational processes to linear, outcome-driven models, and many of us in the AOH community have felt frustrated with evaluators’ and researchers’ unwillingness to embrace emergent processes.

We also know an increasing number of colleagues who are talking about how to evaluate in the face of complexity, how to evaluate facilitation, and who are teaching evaluators facilitation skills. In service to this conversation, we are offering  this well-needed bridge between the evaluation and facilitation communities.

If you're interested in signing up, or in sending someone to the event, please go to www.eval.org and register for the conference (http://www.eval.org/p/cm/ld/fid=201). This is a pre-conference workshop, which means the cost is $160 + the $235 of the conference registration (if you pay by Oct 3rd).

I couldn't agree more with you, Ursula! How amazing it would be if you could actually come! And, YES, I would love to talk with you about working with the EC. How should we proceed?

Hope all is well with your daughters and Simon, too!

Cheers, Alissa

Dear Alissa,

this is super good news, as these processes are highly needed in this field. Everyone delivering budget needs solid results nowadays, and yes, we have them sometimes, and sometimes they are more qualitative and less quantifiable. So lots of stuff to discuss, engage, and create a better process. Not sure I can make it over for this, but I am highly interested in the outcome of your workshop. Maybe we can even invite you over to the EC for giving it here?
