Profile Information

How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
Heard about it many years ago during a nonviolent communication training (2013).

Joined the facebook group, read a lot of online resources (e.g. Chris Corrigan's parking lot) en just started practicing.

I was attracted because it was human-centered (e.g. putting conversations rather than processes in the center) and complexity-informed (e.g. host for emergence), as well as compassionate (e.g. compatible with nonviolent communication). Also charmed by the way it was organized (no big corps or guru's ).

Recently participated in an AOH training (Netherlands, 29/11/22-01/12/22).
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I am a coach, facilitator, trainer and often work to guide large change initiatives (e.g. transformations), often related to addressing complex societal issues.

As such, I work with leadership teams, transformation teams and other teams to either coach them in their way of working, or to host large-scale participatory change processes.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
goverment and public sector, often within one organization, often in the context of a transformation of sorts.
Where do you live/work?
Netherlands

Hi Mark,
Thanks for your message ! Yes, indeed, the Ning isn't nearly as frequented and used as it used to be... In fact, there's talk among the "platform experts" among us to phase it out... Should we do that, there will be an alternative platform identified first ... and all Ning people will be informed.
In the meantime, the FB group has much more shared exchanges.
So, basically, you've just joined kind of a dinosaur!... that we're slowly putting to sleep...
Welcome just the same! It's a great way to see who is where. And the Dutch community is very strong. I see we both know Mansi Jasuja! She's a wonderful person and very active in the AoH community.
Have a great week !

Hello, Mark, and welcome to the Art of Hosting community! Glad to see you here. Post a photo when you can so we can really "see" you here. Then join in with all the conversations. You'll find plenty of resources here, too, to help you deepen your practice. And the more you add to your profile, the more the community can learn from you and share with you. We hope you will find value in exchanging in this virtual community!
