Profile Information:

How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
I first learned of the Art of Hosting at the ALIA Institute in Halifax in June, 2008 when that was my module of choice with Toke, Monica and Chris. Of course I had experienced AoH at previous Shambhala Summer Institutes as a way of being together. I was attracted because something deep inside of me knew (and knows) that this is how we are meant to be together in the world.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
Without directly knowing, Art of Hosting has been a part of my life for a long time. As a teacher, school principal, and professional learning consultant, I have relied on circle and deep conversation as a way to be and learn together. Since formally stepping into AoH as a practice, I have more fully brought this into day-to-day encounters, family, and work with a variety of organizations. I would say that I am an experienced practitioner who lives as a steward of Art of Hosting.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
I have no primary field or topic, other than to hold space for ways of being together that deepen our connections with the self, the other, and with the intention that connects us in our purpose together. My focus is on conversation ... on the magic we create together through deep engagement and emergence of possibility.
Where do you live/work?
I live and practice in Alberta, Canada.
Would you like to share a web address?
http://www.mindsprings.ca
Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?
Aside from my passions for a good book, a great meal, and people of all ages and stages, I have a dream that children will experience hosted learning in their classrooms and schools.
