Event Description

A CALL -- MORE THAN JUST A TRAINING FOR TIMES LIKE THESE

Who or what is waiting for you to rise to your potential?
Do the challenges you face need breakthrough solutions and new levels of partnership?
Are you clear on your own short and long game, and where to focus your energy now?
Are you seeing circumstances in which participation and engagement are essential?
Are you ready to step into new levels of leadership, learning, and systems thinking?

These are tumultuous and intense times. Volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity are constants, like waves cresting on a shore. These waves have the power to decimate hopes, dreams, and aspirations for the future. Even threaten our survival.

But, these tumultuous times also have the power to call forth a higher potential, new paradigms of work, deeper personal commitment, and unusual partnerships. Indeed, many see this as a time to rise to the occasion, to heed a call — it's a moment that many have been waiting for.

For these times, we need to call out the best of each other, build leader-full teams that can work agilely and generatively across difference. We need to cultivate more participation, innovation, and collaboration -- and less isolation and protection. We need to be learning together as living systems to support the paradigm shifts underway.

The best of each other also requires real attention to our inner states as leaders. Training ourselves to work wisely with fear, anxiety, and stress. Learning how to tap into our potential, our whole brain intelligence. Training to stay open to learning, individually and in teams, even when the waves crash upon what little remains stable in the ground we stand upon.

THE ART OF HOSTING -- AT MANY LEVELS

In addition to developing an understanding of how to design, guide, and facilitate specific methods and approaches to participatory leadership, you are also developing a set of critical leadership capabilities that support you as a host of meaningful conversations.

Everyone can be a host of meaningful conversations. A host, in the Art of Hosting sense of the term, has a commitment to transformation. She holds space, creating a container in which conversations - and the people having them - come alive.

The host is attuned to the field, listening for the powerful questions that are key to moving forward. He brings — and models — various methods and processes that serve the conversation.

She facilitates harvesting of important insights, solutions, and relationships so that the work and learning can have the highest impact.

He has an excellent sense of timing. She is confident yet humble, recognizing it is the collective wisdom that includes and transcends anyone’s (including hers) individual contribution.

Rising to one’s potential with so much at stake now in the world is increasingly about hosting conversations that matter.
