How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
online
It matches my way of thinking and being. I host many a conversation and am familiar with some of your main methods, such as the Circle word, Appreciative Inquiry etc
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I have facilitated many a conversation over the past 2 decades and feel very comfortable with the Art of Hosting. My emphasis have been on "challenging conversations," especially with regards to terminal or chronic illnesses and end of life matters.
I am certainly an experienced practitioner, and perhaps can qualify as a steward.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
As I mentioned above, most of my conversations are geared to challenging conversations/hard conversations that seem to center mostly on life and death matters, such as how to bring communities (large and small) together to discuss how we might want to look at "demedicalizing healthcare, especially when it comes to serious illnesses, chronic illnesses and seniors.
Where do you live/work?
Kitchener, Ontario
Would you like to share a web address?

Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?
I have a Master of Science degree in Narrative Medicine from Columbia University in New York City. I have blended and incorporated the narrative methods used there combined with the methods used by Narativ, Inc from New York City with my background in Coaching and Teaching, which I have done over the past 35 years. Much of my focus is on LISTENING as conversations are shaped by the way we listen. I'm extremely passionate about that.
On a different note: I'm just restructuring my website and hope it will be up by the end of November.

Hello, Martina, and welcome to the Art of Hosting community! Glad to see you here. Post a photo when you can so we can really "see" you here. Then join in with all the conversations. You'll find plenty of resources here, too, to help you deepen your practice. And the more you add to your profile, the more the community can learn from you and share with you. We hope you will find value in exchanging in this virtual community!
