Profile Information

How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
My first exposure of AoH was during Waterlutions WIL Canada in September 2018. For 3 days, I experienced Chris Corrigan & Dawn Fleming's approach to carefully building a space for 30+ people that was grounding and encouraging to let down our barriers that prevent us from truly connecting with others. I had never seen or felt a space like it before, and I am interested in learning how to build those spaces for myself and others.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
Starting practitioner, with a keen curiosity to learn and practice hosting spaces.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
The primary field of focus for my hosting work is on anthropogenic influences on water and the natural environment. I have been trained as a hydrogeologist and engineer. Over the last year, I have become aware to the limitations of our engagement with other disciplines. I am curious about approaches to enhancing dialogue within these highly technical spaces to enhance problem definition and establish solutions.
Where do you live/work?
Kitchener, Ontario

Hello, Logan, and welcome to the Art of Hosting community! Glad to see you here. Yes, so important in serving whatever purpose to cross disciplines to bring in a systemic view, analysis, approach. Great work! Post a photo when you can so we can really "see" you here. Then join in with all the conversations. You'll find plenty of resources here, too, to help you deepen your practice. And the more you add to your profile, the more the community can learn from you and share with you. We hope you will find value in exchanging in this virtual community!
