"Hello, Jenn, and welcome to the Art of Hosting community! Glad to see you here. Post a photo when you can so we can really "see" you here. Then join in with all the conversations. You'll find plenty of resources here, too, to help you…"
How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
The Vancouver Foundation partnered with Harvest Moon Consulting to convene an 'Art of Hosting' training session for Community Foundations in BC. I was attracted to this program because I care about convening conversations that matter, that are participatory, and that can solve complex problems.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I've participated in a number of participatory sessions over the years, and I've been a facilitator as part of my work for about fifteen years. I would place myself in the beginning stages of experienced practitioner as I'm just beginning to work formally with many of the methods and frameworks, but have been using them informally and without knowing it for years.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
Social and environmental community development.
Where do you live/work?
North Vancouver, BC, Canada
Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?
Sustainability nerd, passionate about resilient communities and solving complex problems. Foodie. Nature lover. Choir singer. Mum.
