Profile Information

How did you learn about Art of Hosting (please add the date and place) and what attracted you to it?
My first exposure to Art of Hosting practices was in 2006 at the Toronto Summer Institute on Inclusion and Community, which incorporates World Cafe and Open Space Technology methodologies into its design.

Most recently, I was a participant in ALIA Institute's Art of Hosting training in Halifax in January 2013.

I was initially attracted to the ways in which AoH practices can support the growth of diverse, healthy and sustainable communities.
Tell us about your experience with Art of Hosting as part of your life and work. What would you say your competence in it is? (new, starting practitioner, experienced practitioner, steward)
I am a new-ish to starting practitioner.
What is the primary field/topic/focus in your hosting work?
The bulk of my work has been in human services and education, particularly around supporting individuals and nurturing environments to welcome the gifts of people who have been labeled disabled.

My hosting work is now beginning to expand to include communities, organizations and more-than-profit businesses interested in participatory methods of planning.
Where do you live/work?
Toronto, Canada
Would you like to share a web address?
http://www.potluckprojects.ca
Are there interests/passions that you'd like to share?
Among a number of things, I am interested in exploring how Art of Hosting practices intersect with Person-Centred approaches/tools that have emerged in the Inclusion field.
