After a Circle Intensive - Sept. '11 in Belgium, hosted by Christina Baldwin and Ann Linnea - we opened this group/space to share experiences with circle practice. So, here it is for anyone to use. Please share any stories of how the circle has worked, lived and digested in your self and in your work and life.
On this site is also a conversation space that is intented to gather reflections on how important Circle Practice is for Art of Hosting practitioners to deepen their overall practice; so that one has a more specific focus.
Here all kind of stories are welcome!

Only now I had time to fully put my attention into all these wonderful insights and experiences you had shared here.
Right after I returned to Helsinki I also was met with an abundant flow of different circles and while I was involved with them I constantly faced the same question: how to talk about the circle work to people (from different backgrounds). Recently I took part in a really inspirational organization constellation workshop where somebody had just looked at my fb-site and saw something about the Brussels workshop. So they asked what this circle work is in a nutshell and part of me felt like oh my, what it is if I have to describe it in three sentences.

Comment by Franziska Musche on September 28, 2011 at 7:46am dear friends,
yesterday I read about the dead of Wangari MAtthai fromKenya last sunday. Linda brought her into our circle with the story of the burning forest and the humming bird, doing the best he can. Through that story the message of her dead touched me a lot, though I hadn´t known much more of her til now.
best wishes

Dear All,
a few weeks ago a friend of mine died - and I would like to honour her by sharing her favourite quote with you:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of the universe.Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of the universe that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”, written by Marianne Williamson

What wise and thought provoking questions you raise. I want to taste them more and think through them for myself.
I especially love the "honey" comment at the end. So true.
love and hugs,
Mara
Comment by Franziska Musche on September 23, 2011 at 3:22pm Hi,
Ria encouraged me to post my harvest, which most of you know already, on here so it might be of use for others interested in circle practise. So I do. I think of you, f
harvest thoughts on the circle intensiv in Belgium, Sept 11
I like to add a few harvesting questions since time for evaluation and discernment was a bit short in the end.
Looking back my thoughts turn to the powerful impact of the circle while holding the rim. In between we had a brief discussion on what do I need to take my seat in the circle. what do we agree to when stepping in? the question of intention I would have liked to have deepened. Why? In our history there have been enough moments of collectively being drawn into movements that turned out to be destructive. When the circle is such a powerful thing, how do we recognise it´s use is for the good? What is my task as a host, what is my possibility to ensure and check we are on a good way while trusting the process (a term mentioned so often)?
Secondly I think of intention for action for a vision. Every one of us is in some way or the other involved in or getting ready for action. What is our collective vision and how do we as individuals step into action for it. Thats something I would like to more explicitly have shared after this moment of teaching of the circle and presence together. Which is the action that results from the / this circle? So I join Jean with his wish to hear about your experiences.
Another thought I had was again refering to the host and the place and people that host. Where we stayed I enjoyed the place very much. And although Ria was organizing everything I feel like wanting to say thanks not only to her but for all who keep the place running from the owner of the house to the housekeeper to the mantra chanting monk, to those who prepared the food and did the service.
It´s only now that I come up with this thoughts. But to acknoledge the service of the hosts and the place one could when hosting in a place that is not ones own plan this question into the probably always tight schedules: how can we as a group contribute to the well being of the place and its people while we are there. And make this a little exercise of going for action and serving.
I thought again about honey in the heart and wanted to emphasise something that had been mentioned already, that when we love and give that puts honey into our hearts too.
